How to Crochet 38" Lapghan Study of Rage + Tutorial

Sharing is caring!

In a fit of rage, Mikey designed and stitched this sample on the same day. Putting anger to use to get a beautiful stitch sampler lag phan. Anger can sometimes be viewed as bad, but it can also fire off more brain cells and concentration. This is the Study of Rage Crochet Lagphan.

Mikey designed without consideration of what others wanted out of a personal protest to put stitches into a position where he wanted them to go. Usually, he second-guesses stitches and colours to benefit others before his own wishes. This one, he did exactly what he wanted.

After 36 rounds, he was done and the anger had passed and something beautiful came of it.

  • Rnds 1 to 21 use Soft Mink.
  • Rnds 22 to 29 use Shale.
  • Rnds 30 to 35 use Soft Mink.
  • Rnds 36 and 37 finish with Soft Mink.

Tutorial

Coming soon.

Yarn

Red Heart Super Saver Brushed yarn. Ball size: 142 g/5 oz, 233 meters/255 yards.

2 balls of Soft Mink and 2 balls of Shale.

The yarn was changed at the following rounds:

  • Rnds 1 to 21 use Soft Mink.
  • Rnds 22 to 29 use Shale.
  • Rnds 30 to 34 use Soft Mink.
  • Rnds 35 and 36 finish with Soft Mink.

I intended to do this for Bernat Blanket and stopped at the 36th round for this version. This will end up as a 38" diameter blanket

Use a 5 mm / H/8 crochet hook.

I love your videos. They explain everything so well. I also love the light heartedness you add to your videos. I am currently crocheting the "Study of Rage." I am wondering if you will be publishing a video of rounds 37 to 62?
    Thank you. Dawn Jensen

A brand new sample needs to be completed as I have given away the current sample to a family in need. I'm unsure if I will circle back to complete the rest of it on video format. I originally did it with Bernat Blanket, only to get clobbered in complaints about it. So I came up with a new sample that is only in written format. I'm sorry.
